Team Liquid entered the 2022 season as the main favourites to win the LCS 2022 Spring title, and they have yet to show anything that would make you question their chances to do so. This might be one of the strongest teams LCS has ever had, mainly because all five members are seasoned LoL veterans.
This makes Liquid a team that will rarely implode or make mistakes you would expect from less-experienced lineups, so the only real chance any other team in the league has to defeat them is to be individually better. And 100 Thieves just might fit that bill.
Priced at $2.37 with the top betting sites, 100 Thieves are expected to lose, which might happen, but we wouldn’t count on a complete blowout. The defending LCS champions have been flying under the radar for most of the season, but they secured a commanding 3-0 sweep against Cloud9 in the first round of the playoffs.
Admittedly, Liquid are a stronger than Cloud9, but they’re far from perfect. We must note that even though Liquid (at their best) are clear favourites to win the LCS title, they did not look as solid against Evil Geniuses (3-2) in the first round of LCS 2022 Spring playoffs, which Liquid should have lost.
Individual talent-wise, Liquid are slightly better than 100 Thieves, but that is mainly due to their bottom lane. And even though Steven “Hans sama” Liv and Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in will be tough to stop, we would not take Liquid at the offered price.
A 3-1 victory for Team Liquid seems like the most likely outcome, but if 100T can win one map, they can surely force a five-map series.
