eSport Betting Predictions

ESB’s free esports betting predictions for Thursday, June 2, include three Call of Duty League (CDL) Major 3 Winners Bracket bouts. Here are our picks for Minnesota R?KKR vs Los Angeles Thieves, Toronto Ultra vs Atlanta FaZe, and Seattle Surge vs New York Subliners, with top CoD betting odds courtesy of GG Bet.

MINNESOTA R?KKR vs LOS ANGELES THIEVES CDL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: R?KKR $1.44 at GG Bet | Thieves $2.62 at GG Bet

?Minnesota R?KKR finished CDL Major 3 qualifiers with a perfect 5-0 record and an 83% map win rate. Even more impressive is that two of R?KKR’s wins came against Toronto Ultra (3-2) and Atlanta FaZe (3-0), proving their run to the Major was more than just a fluke.

On the other side, we have Los Angeles Thieves, who edged their way into the top eight with a 2-3 record and a 40% map win rate. Over the five games, the Thieves stomped Boston Breach and London Royal Ravens (3-0) but couldn’t win a single map against Seattle Surge, OpTic Texas, or the R?KKR, who beat them 3-0 in Week 1 of the qualifiers.

Due to their past success against the Thieves, Minnesota R?KKR are justifiably priced as $1.44 favourites with CoD betting sites – mainly because the Thieves have not shown anything that would indicate that they’re better prepared for a rematch.

TORONTO ULTRA vs ATLANTA FAZE CDL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: Ultra $2.62 at GG Bet | FaZe $1.44 at GG Bet

?Atlanta FaZe might be the most successful team in the history of the Call of Duty League, but their form of late has not been that great. They placed fifth-eighth at the CDL Pro-Am at the start of the month and could only manage three wins in the CDL Major 3 qualifiers.

Admittedly, they did defeat New York Subliners (3-1), but FaZe have also lost against Minnesota R?KKR (0-3) and OpTic Texas (1-3). The defending CDL champs are far from a lost cause, but consistency isn’t their strongest trait this season.

Toronto Ultra, unlike FaZe, are on an upwards trajectory. They started the season poorly but found their stride in the Major qualifiers, which they ended with a 4-1 record and only one close defeat against the R?KKR.

Talent-wise, FaZe are better, but only if you consider their ceiling. Toronto Ultra have been playing much cleaner over the last weeks, and for this prediction, we will side with form over talent. That’s not to say that the Ultra lack quality; they just haven’t shown the same highs as prime FaZe yet.

SEATTLE SURGE vs NEW YORK SUBLINERS CDL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: Surge $2.20 at GG Bet | Subliners $1.61 at GG Bet
When: June 2, 2022 | 19:30 EDT

Seattle Surge performed admirably in the Major qualifiers and secured the third seed with victories against Florida Mutineers (3-1), London Royal Ravens (3-0), Los Angeles Thieves (3-0), and Paris Legion (3-1). Even though they didn’t need to face any top dogs, the Surge looked dominant in their wins, so they should do fine when they take on the CDL heavyweights.

New York Subliners won the CDL Pro-Am and have since not looked too bad. Admittedly, they dropped two series in the qualifiers, but those two defeats came against FaZe (1-3) and Toronto Ultra (2-3).

Like the Ultra, New York are improving at an alarming rate and are currently one of the top five teams in the league. However, the Surge are not too far behind, suggesting that this could be a close series.

If we had to pick a side, we would take the Subliners; however, we don’t expect them to dominate the game, so they are not a good pick at the offered CDL betting odds. Instead, we’re on over 4.5 maps at $2.65.
