This deal includes the involvement of Santander in the competitive League of Legends esports scene in Brazil.

This sporting competition was said to have been organized in other to showcase new talent in the gaming orbit.

Executive superintendent of marketing at Santander, Danielle Sardenberg spoke about the partnership and emphasized that the bank is not looking to be just another sponsor but to contribute to the CBLOL Academy and the Brazilian esports scene in general.

“The partnership with CBLOL represents a great milestone for Santander, which enters with all its might in one of the most traditional eSports championships in Brazil. We will walk side by side with gamers, both professionals and amateurs, as well as those who work to be a pro player in electronic sports. We are not here just to be just another sponsor, but also to contribute to the CBLOL Academy and, respectively, to the Brazilian eSports scenario.”

Santander’s collaboration with CBLOL is part of an agenda to establish itself as Brazil’s gaming bank. The institution gained a foothold in the gaming world by sponsoring CCXP Worlds 2020, the virtual edition of Comic-Con Experience. Other perks of being the sponsor of the CBLOL do not only include displaying the brand during the broadcast but also Santander will be responsible for presenting the championship award, and also other MVP prizing in the tournament.

More brand content from Santander is said to be showcased during the next split of the tournament which is to be held in the second half of this year 2022.

Santander has collaborated with esports organizations as part of its esports strategy. Hence, the bank has been a major sponsor of the esports outfit Brazilian Free Fire League (LBFF) as well as the FURIA. Making the bank’s brand to be associated with two of the country’s most important tournaments as a result of its new deal.

It’s obvious that Santander has spread their tentacles wide in aiding gaming development as the brand will also sponsor the League of Legends international and world championship and the Brazilian broadcast of the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) and Worlds.

Speaking on the partnership was Brazil’s head of eSports at Riot Games, Carlos Antunes. He expressed his excitement about what the partnership promises in the nearest future.

“Being able to count on the support of Santander is a source of great pride for us. In addition to reinforcing the growing importance of eSports in Brazil, this long-term partnership allows us to further develop the local competitive scene of League of Legends, and create together with Santander new possibilities and experiences that only Santander can offer CBLOL fans.”
