The French esports organization will now have its audio needs delivered by JBL. Every institution of Vitality, including its players, training facilities, and headquarters will now be fully equipped with JBL products.
Both organizations have agreed to include social media activations, while Vitality has agreed to provide support as JBL undergoes research towards the development of new gaming headphones.
JBL has since attempted to strengthen its position in the esports industry, and this deal is undoubtedly a step in the right direction. The European heavyweights will help to bring the brand to the forefront in the esports industry.
They also have active deals with 100 Thieves and ESL, a partnership that will see them host an esports tournament (JBL Quantum Cup) across three titles, Fortnite, CS: GO, and Apex Legends.
Outside of esports, JBL has also continued to expand in the sports industry. The audio brand has a deal with the Milwaukee Bucks big man Giannis Antetokounmpo in the NBA.
Team Vitality’s CEO Nicolas Maurer has reiterated their commitment to stay competitive in the esports scene and believes having clear sound will help the players on their journey to success. Speaking on the partnership, he said:
“Having clear and accurate in-game sound is vital for our players as they look to level up their performance. It’s great to be able to work with a brand that is at the forefront of technology, and that’s why I am excited to announce our partnership with JBL.”
JBL’s Senior Marketing Manager Europe South, Olivier Baharian, also commented on the partnership, expressing how proud they are to partner with Vitality and hinted at several planned activations coming soon.
“This new partnership confirms the desire to coop[erate] with Best-in-Class entities. As the audio leader in multiple markets, JBL is proud to become the audio supplier of one of the best esports and gaming teams in the world. A lot of activations are already planned and will allow consumers and fans to discover the excellence of both brands.”
Vitality has been making moves to ensure they have the best gear and remain competitive in the esports scene. In April, they sealed partnerships with Philips Monitors and Secretlab.
Secretlab is currently the official chair provider for the esports organization and has worked together to unveil a custom-made Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 Team Vitality Edition Chair.
Their multi-year deal with Philips Monitors, which was an extension of a deal first made in 2021, will see the electronics producers deliver several ranges of monitors for their FIFA and League of Legends teams.
Some other partnerships the Vitality has secured in 2022 involve high-profile brands like Samsung and French bank Crédit Agricole.
In January 2022, Vitality secured a €50m investment fund from Rewired.gg for talent acquisition, but that has not delivered the expected success so far. They failed to qualify for the LoL Mid-Season Invitational after finishing 5th in the LEC Spring.
Meanwhile, their Counter-Strike team, who made it to the 2022 PGL Major Antwerp, despite a perfect run in the Challengers stage failed to make it past the Legends stage. A win against Danish Heroic would have guaranteed them a spot in the Champions Stage, but they lost the series 2-1.
